About
Jenkins & Son's
Lawn Care
With Us the Grass is Greener
Jenkins & Son's Lawn Care is a family-owned business created by St. Louis native Charles J. Jenkins IV. A Tennessee State University graduate, Charles harnessed his education into creating a family legacy built to bolster generations to come.
What started as a part-time hobby quickly shifted into a thriving business over the past 11+ years and serves as an outlet. Charles' degree in psychology, years as a mentor and educator, and vast world travels gave him the edge and wherewithal to be a successful business owner.
That wherewithal was put to the test in 2024, when Jenkins & Son's took on one of the City of St. Louis's largest vacant-property maintenance programs — servicing lots for the Land Reutilization Authority across the Ward 12 and 13 corridors. What began as a single contract became a proving ground: 1,886 services completed in year one, scaling to 3,051 in year two, without missing a single rotation across three consecutive seasons.
Today, this grounds maintenance team serves the greater St. Louis area, specializing in routine grounds maintenance, property cleanup, landscape care, and snow removal — backed by the same discipline and reliability that earned the trust of one of the City's largest public-sector programs.
Proven Performance
From 2024 to 2026, Jenkins and Sons delivered grounds maintenance for the City of St. Louis Land Reutilization Authority (LRA). Across three consecutive seasons, with no missed rotation, our lean two-person crew delivered 6,499 lawn services covering roughly 780 acres of grass, at about $132 per service.
2024: 1,886 services, about $327K billed, our first full season. 2025: 3,051 services, $403K billed, a record season, up 62% year over year, 1,165 more services. 2026 through July 13: 1,562 services, $249K billed, about 51% of 2025's full season already, with peak months ahead.
The work covered the Ward 12 and 13 corridors, including Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, Theodosia Avenue, Garfield Avenue, North Market Street, Cora Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, and Goodfellow Boulevard. It included lawn mowing, debris removal, herbicide application, and dump-ticket handling with documented disposal. Crews worked recurring cycles roughly every 2 to 3 weeks in peak season, spring through fall, at stable per-lot pricing.
We also maintained 100 acres of land at Lambert International Airport as a contractor from 2023 to 2026. The LRA work also showed 24-hour emergency turnaround, and the crew was trusted on high-profile sites like the Monarch on MLK. We are an MBE-certified, family-owned business. Charles Jenkins IV left a banking career and started with one commercial mower. The City's first 2026 rotation mowed only 59% of Ward 13 lots (1,603 of 2,705), leaving 41% uncut. Our dedicated crew closed that gap.
